چکیده

We introduce ATLEA, a novel extension of Alternating-time Temporal Logic with explicit actions in the object language. ATLEA allows to reason about abilities of agents under commitments to play certain actions. Preand postconditions as well as availability and unavailability of actions can be expressed. We show that the multiagent extension of Reiter’s solution to the frame problem can be encoded into ATLEA. We also consider an epistemic extension of ATLEA. We demonstrate that the resulting logic is sufficiently expressive to reason about uniform choices of actions. Complexity results for the satisfiability problem of ATLEA and its epistemic extension are given in the paper.

Games, Actions, and Social Software

This programmatic note high-lights a major theme in my lecture notes “Logic in Games” (van Benthem 1999 – 2002): the need for explicit logics that define agents’ strategies, as the drivers of interaction in games. Our text outlines issues, recalls recent results, and raises new open problems. Results are mainly quoted, and the emphasis is on new notions and questions. For more details on the va...

Classic planning for mobile robots

The paper describes an approach to reasoning about actions and plan generation within the framework of description logics Our proposal is considered classic since it is in the style of deductive planning and it relies upon the reasoning capabilities of description logics that are realized in the system Classic From an epistemological point of view our approach is based on the formalization of a...

Using Temporal Logics for Planning and Control

Traditionally, planning work in Artificial Intelligence has focused on primitive actions and instantaneous states. Innovative work has been done on composing primitive actions so as to bring about desired final states. The thesis being advanced here is that instead of simply focusing on primitive actions, it is also useful to use representation and reasoning tools whose primitive objects are se...

Moving a Robot : The KR & R Approach

The paper describes an approach to reasoning about actions and plan generation within the framework of description logics. From an epistemological viewpoint, our approach is based on the formalization of actions given by dynamic logics, but we exploit their correspondence with description logics to turn the formalization into an actual implementation. In particular, we are able to carefully wea...

Reasoning about Actions, Knowledge and Normative Ability

The past five years have witnessed an explosion of interest in the use of cooperation logics for reasoning about multi-agent systems. Since the development of ATL, there are many multi-agent cooperation logics developed as an extension to ATL. The cooperation logic called the Normative Alternating-time Temporal Epistemic Logic(NATEL) is developed to extend ATL. Four key contributions have been ...
